Note: Number of field players includes goalie.
- Coaches on the Field: Coaches are
permitted on the field for kindergarten and first grade. Only one
coach is allowed on the field, and the coach must remain in the
defensive end of the field.
- Equipment: Shin guards are
required for all age groups. No jewelry is allowed! Only approved
soccer cleats are allowed, and no steel cleats are permitted. All
players must wear uniforms provided by CYS.
- Participation: Each players is required
to play at least three-quarters of each game. Grades K-5/6 are
limited to substituting only at the start of quarters with the
exception of injuries. The seventh thru twelfth grade leagues have
free substitution, but are still required to play all players for ¾
of the game.
- Off-Sides: We will not attempt to
explain the off-sides rules here. Please consult a board member with
questions. Off-sides generally will not be called in the
kindergarten, first grade, and second grade age groups. If an
offensively player consistently is posted deep in the team's
offensive zone, the referee may make the call.
- Ties: Ties will not be broken
during regular season games. Ties will be broken during tournament
games. Two additional five-minute overtime periods will be played
followed by a shoot-out, in the event the overtime periods do not break
the tie.
- Rules: Most
generally-accepted soccer rules are observed by CYS. The board
reserves the right to amend its rules at any time
